Helsingborg, Sweden ? (June 13, 2013) ? PUMA Nordic announced the construction of a new warehouse for the Nordic area in Sweden in order to centralize the current warehouses of PUMA, COBRA PUMA Golf and Tretorn in the area. A significant initiative that enables an important and strategic presence for the Nordic customers and partners with a high level of local service and flexibility.
The 18 meter high warehouse will be an expansion of the Head office adding 9 600 m2 to the already existing warehouse, which will make a total of a 23 000 m2 facility situated in the industrial estate of Berga, Helsingborg.
?The Nordic area is an important market and we are very proud that PUMA has chosen to establish this pilot project here with roll out in the other European regions to follow?, says Peter Bedsted, General Manager PUMA Nordic.
As part of PUMA´s global sustainability program the new warehouse is built in accordance with the requirements to receive a Green Building certification. In order to improve energy efficiency, it uses 25% less energy compared to the Swedish National Board’s (Boverket) construction requirements for new buildings.
The new, partially automated, warehouse will be equipped with the latest technology in inventory management which will provide a further improved service offering faster and more flexible deliveries to customers and retailers.
Construction is currently underway and the building is expected to be ready for testing in the second half of 2014.
